The exploration of historical landscapes often presents challenges, particularly when attempting to reconcile old maps with contemporary geographic data. Changes in settlements, the emergence or disappearance of roads, and the overall evolution of the terrain can complicate the identification of specific locations, such as farms or significant buildings. Addressing these complexities, the Maps Explorer application has been developed to aid users in their navigational endeavors.

Maps Explorer enables users to overlay any historical map image onto a modern Google map.
